FAQs
RESOLVE YOUR DOUBTS
Where can I rent a UTV in Pigeon Forge
Right here. Smoky Mountain Adventure Rides – 120 Plaza Drive, Pigeon Forge, TN 37863. Call us at (865) 365-4272.
Are your UTVs street legal in Tennessee?
Yep. Our UTVs have headlights, brake lights, turn signals, and license plates. You can drive them on any public road where the speed limit is 45 MPH or below. No highways or interstates.
Do I need to book in advance?
Walk-ins are welcome, but we recommend booking as early as possible to lock in your machine and time – especially during busy seasons. Reservations are first come, first serve.
What is the age limit for drivers?
You must be 22 or older to rent and drive. That’s our insurance requirement. If anyone under 22 drives and there’s an accident, you’re responsible for all damages.
Do I need a special license?
Just a regular driver’s license. You’ll also need a credit card (not debit) and full coverage insurance on your personal vehicle.
Do I need insurance?
Yes. You’ll need full coverage auto insurance on your personal vehicle.
Can I keep the vehicle overnight at my cabin?
If you’re renting for 24 hours or more, absolutely. You can keep it at your hotel or cabin overnight. Shorter rentals don’t include overnight unless we give special permission.
What happens if it rains?
We’re open 365 days a year, rain or shine. Honestly? Some of our best rides happen in light rain. The mountains look different. More alive. If there’s severe weather, we can help you reschedule.
Are UTVs safe?
Absolutely. Our UTVs come with seat belts, roll cages, power brakes, and all the safety features you’d expect. Before you head out, we’ll show you how everything works and go over the safety rules. Follow Tennessee traffic laws and you’re good to go.
Do you have to wear a helmet on a UTV?
No. Our street legal UTVs drive just like a regular vehicle on public roads. Tennessee doesn’t require helmets for them – same as you wouldn’t wear one in your car.
Can kids and pets ride?
Yes. Both kids and pets are welcome.
How safe is it to ride a UTV while pregnant?
Check with your doctor first. If you follow the safety guidelines, the ride should feel similar to driving your car at home. Just consider how easy it is to get in and out of the UTV. Some are easier than others.
What to wear when riding a UTV?
Weather conditions can change quickly in the mountains any time of year and temperatures can swing substantially depending on elevation.
We like to say, don’t dress for the parking lot, dress for the overall experience. Layers and alternate clothing options for your day are always recommended and your smartest option for all in your party.
Do you provide maps?
Yes. We give you Exclusive Private Maps with custom routes based on what you want to see and how long you’re renting. Tell us your vibe and we’ll set you up with the perfect route for your group.
How long should I rent?
Start by asking yourself one question: do you just want to drive, or do you want to get out and actually explore?
- 2-3 hrs: Best if you’re short on time. You’ll get a feel for the roads and one quick stop.
- 4 hrs (Most Popular): A solid ride with time for a couple of stops. Great if you want to see the highlights and get a real feel for the mountains.
- 6-8 hrs (Recommended): This is where it changes. Time to pull over at a waterfall, walk a historic trail, stop at a scenic overlook, and still feel like you had a full day. No clock-watching.
- 1-3 Days: A different route every morning, back to your cabin every night. By the end you’ll know corners of these mountains that most people never find, including people who’ve been coming here for years.
Best time to ride?
Anytime. Spring and fall have gorgeous colors. Summer’s perfect for long days. Winter? We’ve got snow suits and gear to keep you warm. Even rain and snow can make the ride unforgettable. The mountains feel more alive.
